Welcome to STRONG.  Over the next 8 weeks we have 2 goals for you:
  • Our first goal is to help you reduce body fat, build functional muscle mass, develop resilient strength, improve your conditioning and mobility, and learn how to prepare and recover to stay injury and pain free for life.
  • Our second goal is to help you build your "Owner's Manual" (a set of handling instructions for your body).  Your "Owner's Manual" is developed to help you make informed decisions about your own needs, wants, and priorities (instead of me telling you what to think or feel or do).  "Results have very little to do with goals and nearly everything to do with systems" James Clear, creator of Habits Academy

Group fun and everyday functional movement ​
​When a person exercises in a group, has fun and uses everyday functional movements, he or she is far more likely to exercise more often, eat better, have less injuries, lose fat and gain muscle mass.  Our program will provide all of the elements necessary for participants to achieve their fitness goals.

Using body weight, barbells, bands, pulleys, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls and stability balls, this outstanding program will take you step-by-step through the process of a sound functional training program.  We skillfully manipulate exercise variables to generate clear and steady increases in your performance and desired results while reducing your risk of injury.

​Your workouts are designed to push you to your limit and maximize your results.  Best of all, each workout is designed to be completed in 45-50 minutes.  Challenge yourself with these workouts and enjoy increases in your mobility, conditioning and strength while building muscle and reducing body fat.

​ Strong training sessions are perfect for those of you who are
  • Busy adults wanting to get stronger, lose fat, gain lean muscle, have more energy and less aches and pains all while being part of a welcoming culture
  • Military, firefighters, law enforcement officers and others that believe in physical training for improved occupational performance

Semi-Private Training (4-5 people per session) sessions are used to promote the benefits in working with a coach, having a built in support system and the motivation and accountability to ensure you reach your goals.
​
For those that are motivated but pressed for time, travel frequently or want to have a more flexible training schedule.
  • (2) group-based training sessions per week: $160 per month
  • (3) group-based training sessions per week: $216 per month
For those that are motivated to reach their goals in the quickest timeframe and have every session scheduled and supervised
  • Unlimited (5) group-based training sessions per week: $330 per month

Training, Nutrition, Tracking & Coaching

​Without STRENGTH, No Training Is Complete
When it comes to getting leaner, stronger, more powerful and even improving mobility, strength training is the foundation of all training.
With that said, we will provide a pain-free performance approach called STRONG (Functional Strength Training), which involves movement pattern variations that allow maximal trainability while minimizing unwanted joint stress in the process.

If you plan on training for a lifetime and building longevity into your physical practices, forget about blindly training specific exercises and instead, train custom fit movement pattern variations. There are six foundational movement patterns that are as close to mandatory movements as it gets:
  • Squat
  • Hip Hinge (bend at the waist)
  • Lunge
  • Upper Body Push
  • Upper Body Pull
  • Carry
The foundational movement patterns are the backbone of STRONG.  We will challenge your movement patterns with different variations of big staple lifts to build resilient strength, longevity and improve body composition

CARDIO FOR STRONG PEOPLE
There is absolutely a place and time for cardiovascular endurance training, and is an important aspect of any well-rounded performance and physique focused training program.  Many times, we forget (or don't know) that “getting your cardio in” doesn’t always need to be slaving away on the treadmill or elliptical.  There are other more effective methods to train the cardiovascular system in conjunction with the musculoskeletal system that will provide greater results than moderate intensity steady state cardio.

With that said, we will use
  • sprint intervals (treadmill, elliptical or bike)
  • finishers
  • loaded carries
  • low intensity walking

​Nutrition Coaching
Your success of the program relies on two things:
  • Pushing Yourself In The Gym
  • Nailing Your Nutrition
You cannot get away with only doing one of these things. "Without hard training your body will not get the stimulus to grow.  Without proper nutrition your body will not even get the ability to grow" JR.  When it comes to training for desired results and performance, this cannot be possible without putting a true emphasis on what you do outside of the gym

With that said, we will provide you with a customized nutrition program based on your specific needs, wants/likes and goals.  Your nutritional program will cover the 4 nutritional pillars:
  • What to eat (quality)
  • How much to eat (quantity/intake)
  • When to eat (timing)
  • How to adjust your eating based on your 2 and 4 week outcomes (body fat % and performance)
Without basic, fundamental, repeatable habits centered around foundational nutrition, you will only go so far. We want you to be able to hit your nutrition goals hard and see what your body is truly capable of when leveling up your training  – but also enjoy the process and don’t obsess over it.

Tracking/Building Your "Owner's Manual"

With that said, we will help you build your "
Owner's Manual" - a collection of information and analysis about your life, body, needs, wants/likes, and real-life-tested experiences.  Throughout our coaching, we ask you to track your progress, gather data, and do a quick reflect on thought exercises.  This process helps you:
  • Take responsibility for your thoughts, your beliefs, your stories, your environments, and most importantly, your behaviors. (No more coach-blaming or “This diet / workout plan didn’t work for me!”)
  • Feel empowered by and invested in the idea that you now have a set of “handling instructions for your body”. (No more “one-size-fits all” programs.)
  • Test hypotheses, gather data, and draw conclusions, just like scientists. (No more blindly “just following the rules”.)
A good Owner’s Manual empowers you to make informed decisions about your own needs, wants, and priorities (instead of me telling you what to think or feel or do). It’s client-centered coaching at its best.
